The team of Linda Wysong and Horatio Hung-Yan Law are happy to announce that they have completed the year-long project of developing an Art and Placemaking Plan for Regional Growth Center. The RGC is located 2.5 miles southwest of downtown Tacoma and over the South Tacoma aquifer in the Puget Sound Watershed.

Vision

Art in Public Spaces work best when it grows out of this interdisciplinary approach.

We believe that art and design are key to a healthy neighborhood that includes work, play, and beauty with places that encourage community by creating places to meet, share and connect. The people of South Tacoma desire a neighborhood that is green, safe, and pedestrian friendly. We suggest the Art is key to this vision.

Intersection Video by Kristy Edwards 19:00 minutes
When the modules of shiny steel are grouped and stacked, creating new structure in the once empty city street, the choreography of the work process becomes evident. Getting the job done may call for seemingly awkward movements and uncomfortable positions but there is art and vitality in awkwardness as well as in grace.

The urban grid is the frame for this cycle of building and tearing down that is parallel to the performance.  Intersection focused on the beauty and energy of daily work and life.
