Tower Construction

The frames are stood up, the cross braces secured and then the planks are laid; a scaffold is being built. As the metal and wood structure rises from the ground, the builders move upward as well. The interconnection between the fixed rectilinear forms and the movement of the workers is key to Tower Construction.
Process, an intrinsic aspect of art is the essence of construction. When you walk on a building site, the rumbling noise overwhelms at first. But soon the observer senses an orchestrated pattern comparable to the choreography of dance. Coordination, timing, training and individual excellence are evident.
Tower Construction was a temporary performance/sculpture. Like modern cities, the human figures moved freely throughout the geometric structure, creating a living, kinetic sculpture.
